Trump Wants to Resume TPP After Saying It Raped Our Country

Nearly a year after extracting the U.S. from the Trans-Pacific Partnership, President Donald Trump has requested that his top economic advisers look into the re-entering of trade pact negotiations.

The president’s change of heart toward the TPP, which he had said during his campaign was a deal “pushed by special interests who want to rape our country,” comes as he is facing disapproval from farmers for his troubling trade battle with China.

Beijing responded to Trump’s steel and aluminum tariffs, by placing fines on a list of agricultural crops that would affect most of the president’s political base.
