PA Lawmaker Called to Resign After Homophobic Response

Democrats in Pennsylvania have called Rep. Daryl Metcalfe to resign after he chided Rep. Matt Bradford with language considered homophobic. He told Bradford not to touch him claiming that he doesn’t to be touched by men and doesn’t “like men like you do” insinuating that Bradford was on the gay spectrum.

The Pennsylvania Democratic Party said in a statement that Metcalfe should resign given past statements it believes to be racist and homophobic. Metcalfe has pushed legislation that would make English the official language of Pennsylvania and has blocked a gay state representative from speaking about gay marriage on the House floor.

Bradford says he touched Metcalfe because Metcalfe wouldn’t give the Rep. room to finish speaking on the floor.
